Upcoming software update for Satio makes it more like Vivaz

Posted by Michell Bak
March 5th, 2010

NOW AVAILABLE!
In my recently published preview of the Vivaz I mentioned that the software is one of the key differences between Satio and Vivaz. It’s been updated quite a bit compared to Satio, and I was wondering if Satio owners would be able to get this update as well. It’s now been confirmed by Sony [...]

March 3rd, 2010

In an interview with Mobile Today, Sony Ericsson’s Nathan Vautier, Head of Sales in the UK, said that the company will announce 14-16 phones this year, including “a number of Walkman phones” for the lower-/mid-end segment. Most will be priced around the £100 mark.
Interesting. The last announcement of a product in the Walkman range was [...]

December 24th, 2009

Although not entirely finished… I ran into a bit of an issue just a few minutes ago, which prevents me from finishing it totally, but all that’s missing are a few screenshots and camera samples. I’m unable to add any at the moment.
There’s a total of 8,200 words and more than 100 pictures to satisfy [...]

Here’s a 17-minute video preview of the Sony Ericsson Satio. There’s no audio as I simply couldn’t find a track long enough. Fire up your favourite music player if you want music to go along I had to divide it into two parts because of YouTube’s 10 minute limit. Hope you’ll enjoy!

Interview with Aldo Liguori on change at Sony Ericsson

November 10th, 2009

As most of you know Sony Ericsson is a changed company – or at least they’re trying to be. Their new make.believe brand message seems to have done a lot of good for the company and I was hoping to get a chance to speak with someone from Sony Ericsson about the change and what [...]

High capacity battery available for Satio, ships with low capacity one

Posted by Michell Bak
October 28th, 2009

This is a bit of a mystery. The retail units of Satio ship with a 1,000 mAh battery, which is a bit low on the juice considering it’s a high-end phone that needs a lot of power. However, there are reportedly 1,350 mAh batteries around that are compatible with the Satio.
According to Steve O’Hear from [...]

Video unboxing of the Sony Ericsson Aino

October 27th, 2009

Here’s an unboxing video of the Sony Ericsson Aino that was released to market just recently. It’s quite a nice phone, although I must admit that I absolutely resent the keypad and soft keys. It’s way too cramped for my taste.
As you can see from the video, the Aino comes with a desk stand, Bluetooth [...]

The question of the week comes from Faris and is: “Could you please show some stuffs about gaming in Satio? How does it manage games which require more input than just tilting the device? Like for example Assassin’s Creed or something like that? I havent seen any other place which shows more about gaming.”

I got my own black Satio just yesterday and thought I’d do a few comparison shots, so you can all see the difference in colour. I honestly must say that I prefer the black one over the silver one. It’s so much cooler in real life.
Sorry about the dust specks on the black one. Tried [...]

The Satio takes on the professional Nikon D700: Night photography

Posted by Michell Bak
October 16th, 2009

Sony Ericsson claims the U1 (Satio) is capable of giving a mediocre compact camera a run for its money, and I have basically said that I more or less agree with that statement. But just how does match up to a high-end professional DSLR camera? That’s what I wanted to find out and judging by [...]

Anyway, let’s get back on track here for a moment. After having had the Satio for a few days [...]
