In an interview with the Swedish website Dagens Industri, Sony Ericsson’s new CEO Bert Nordberg explains that he’s looking to achieve profit already next year. That’s a pretty positive statement coming from a man in his position!

I really like his goals and upcoming changes. He wants the company to produce more high-end phones with lots of excellent specifications and he wants fewer similar phones and a higher production of the ones in the portfolio. Better and more expensive phones are the way to go forward – not by selling 25 dollar phones in India, as he put it in the statement to DI. In addition to this he wants to cut down on the number of managers in the company to achieve a flatter structure and make it easier to make changes.

Is this the man of the hour or what? I’ll see if I can get an interview with him!

i am happy to see positive responce from sony ericsson ceo , but i am not confidant that only targetting high end phones could save the company , low end phones tend to conquere most of the sales , , so i can understand that he is going to limit the number of the products and introduce high end phones with large quantities

what they need is more QUALITY phones at average prices.

At the end of the day, ARak is right, most end-users arent gonna be buying high ends. Its the mid range and low ends which suffice the average user.
