Sony Ericsson announces the WebSDK

Yay, this is going to be awesome!

From now on all web developers can create applications for Android or Symbian handsets without having to go through the difficulties of learning a new programming language. Simply create the web application using basic or advanced CSS / HTML / Javascript, and use the Sony Ericsson WebSDK to convert the web application into applications that can be used on Android and Symbian S60. A Javascript bridge component will make it possible for developers to make use of some of the phone’s features, such as accelerometer, camera, contacts and GPS.

It’s already available on Developer World, so make sure to give it a go if you’re keen on developing web applications. I’m pretty sure I’ll give it a go when I’ve got the time!
