Today marks the beginning of something great – or rather something in the making of becoming great. The startup and launch of a potential success. For those of you who are not familiar with my – at times – great ambitions and perhaps lack of modesty, I’m naturally talking about this website, se-blog.com.
So what is se-blog.com? It’s basically a new resource for your every need when it comes to Sony Ericsson. On this site will be published news and feature stories, galleries, videos and much more. We’ll focus on four key goals for this website:
- High definition media
- High quality in-depth material
- Speed
- Web 2.0 with social media services
Now, you might ask how this is going to happen… Well, I have been what most people would call a diehard fan of Sony Ericsson for quite a lot of years, and my great interest in the company and its products has opened a lot of possibilities for me, both personally and professionally. It has helped me gain an extensive knowledge of just about everything related to Sony Ericsson and I must admit that I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the topic. Few people have put the same level of dedication into this kind of work as I have. Not surprisingly, the ones that have done so, are also the ones that are at the top of the league. Or maybe it’s just plain luck
I’ll kick off the site on my own in order to set the identity of the site. But after a while I’ll look into getting more authors to join. I’ve already gotten quite a lot of offers, and it’s definitely something I’ll have a look at.
As some of you may have noticed or guessed by now, I am the founder of the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog (USEB), which is currently the most visited unofficial Sony Ericsson fan blog on the web. I’m overly impressed and very humbled of the fact that it has reached a total of more than 4 million page views. But unfortunately, there’s nothing new or groundbreaking about USEB for me anymore. Having said that, I have many good memories of working at USEB and building up the website. However, good memories rarely come without bad memories, and yes – there has been a few of those as well. I’m afraid I cannot go into any specific details, but summing it all up, it’s been enough to make me get fed up with the way things work at Sony Ericsson.
I have witnessed an internal chaos in management and found out the hard way just how little it takes to set off internal situations, I would classify as on the verge of being crises. I have witnessed an incredible waste of resources and work hours. It has taken months to complete several projects that I would personally have been able to complete in perhaps a few days – just have a look at this website. I did everything in just sixteen hours; from registering the domain and setting up everything to coding CSS, HTML, Javascript and PHP in Notepad++, while creating and designing all the elements in Photoshop, trying to mimic certain ideas, styles and parts of Sony Ericsson’s newly revamped website, while slightly redesigning others.
But hopefully Sony Ericsson’s way of doing things is about to change now. There are a number of reasons why I started this project, but the biggest has to be Sony Ericsson’s recent change of brand – “make.believe” – and what it brings. I know it might sound silly, but it marks the beginning of change and something new. A new phase and era in the mobile industry, if you will. With Sony Ericsson pretty much starting over from scratch, I thought I’d do something along the lines of doing the same.
However, this sort of new beginning calls for commitment. I needed to go all-in. Start from scratch and build up a crowd of daily visitors. I know that it’s going to be incredibly hard to gain popularity, especially with the tough competition nowadays. Lots of blogs and websites have got great ambitions, but as we all know, only a few make it to the top. And that’s where I hope this one is going. Or rather, I hope it won’t just reach the top, but peak once it’s there.
Unfortunately, some might say (including myself), this means that I cannot continue on publishing content on USEB. I simply won’t have the time and effort to maintain both sites simultaneously. In addition to that, I feel that if I have to give Sony Ericsson a second chance, I need a fresh start. I hope everyone will agree with me that this is a valid reason and I hope for your support in this.
So, without further ado I’d like to welcome everyone. Welcome to my new project. I hope you’ll embrace it. Please feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts and view on this. Bug reports are more than welcome as well.

Nice Michell, Welcome back stronger than ever!
All the best mate!!!
Modesty seems not to be your excellence…
Sorry, I know… But I was in a bit of a rush and had difficulty finding better ways of putting the various paragraphs. Hope it’s okay with you, anyway

Thanks, appreciate it! I’ll kick off the site myself as I want to personalise it and set its identity, if you will, but I’ve already gotten a lot of offers that I’ll keep in mind
Nice fresh start
One question: Where is your RSS feed?
Oh i am sorry! i am used to seeing the RSS icon on firefox address bar
found it
I’ll make sure it will display in the address bar from now on. Thanks
Thanks guys. It means a lot
Hmm, this web site looks very similar to Sony Ericsson’s one.
Well come back anyway!
That’s what I was going for, but at the same time I wanted to add a few personal touches here and there
And thanks!
Awesome. Bookmarked this site. Absolutely love it.
Thanks mate
post scriptum: I hope you’ll be first to publish a (p)review of the Xperia X3
What’s that?
Perhaps he meant SE Rachael?
Is that a hint you’re giving us?
Hehe, I know what he meant
Why do you copied design from the official Sony Ericsson site?
I didn’t. It’s inspired by Sony Ericsson’s website, but I’ve done everything from scratch, and added my own touch here and there. Code-wise it’s very different.
I wish you good luck and hope to see fresh leaks.
Already “Ctrl-D”:ed. Looking forward to following your new venture.
Cheers, guys!

Well done Michell! It’s great to have you back! The new site looks great and I hope you will have enough time to keep this blog up. I know it’s hard, cos I’m a blogger myself too
As a person who has been associated with the sales and service of SE phones for the last few years i have been following USEB avidly for a long time.I would say you have a lot of guts to invest your time and energy in something like this, looking at the state SE is in presently. But then again just like you said I too feel that there is something stirring within, what with the new logo colours, ‘make.believe’ thing, entertainment unlimited promotion, shifting to micro sd,satio, aino, yari and all.Maybe they have learned their lesson.Have a gut feeling that SE is shifting slowly towards Sony.Anyway good luck in your new venture from somebody whose fortunes depend on how Bert Nordberg takes this company forward in the next couple of years.
