Special edition Aino is not so special

As you all know, Sony Ericsson is rumoured to be releasing a special version of Aino and we now have the preliminary information about this special edition device:

  • Memory card – 2 GB instead of the regular 8 GB
  • No MH100 Bluetooth headset – will have a regular stereo headset
  • No EC100 charging dock

The (not-so) special edition Aino will be called Aino Classic, and it will be available in Germany in June with a 50€ off the regular price due to its conservative packaging. Unfortunately, the “normal” Aino will be discontinued. We’re not yet sure if this special edition will be available elsewhere.

By the way… No change in looks either. It’ll just be the same design as you’re used to.

This is so lame! Instead of something special or more, we get less.

Sigh, this sounds lame *thumbs down* bad move by SE

Hmmph :| . That’s not good. LG did the same with the Viewty which, imo was a mistake, and also discontinued the better model. I guess anyone who want’s the decent one, should get it now before it’s too late!

  4. Bic says:

I don’t understand why companies do this. Yes a lesser version can be good but, to discontinue the better version, makes no sense. At least see which sells better before discontinuing it.

  5. ktonlai says:

    should be called “downgraded edition”

i dont believe it…that would be very bad step by SE….they cant afford something like that……AINO was very critisied so they cant make the same phone just with lower price…..it is stupid……some motherfu_ker on that forum said that but how can we believe it ??? hmm??? and u post it here like it is official..u dissapointed me very badly…i dont trust this site anymore like i used to….

  8. @Marek / Petras / whatever you call yourself next
We’ve provided a source link and I personally choose to trust Xell, who posted the information. I’m sorry you don’t trust this site as you used to, but that’s your loss.

I think it’s a good idea, it’ll make the phone more affordable :)
