Small software package update now available for X2 customers

Sony Ericsson just announced the availability of a new small software package update for the XPERIA X2. While it is not the complete update of the operating system that will come later this month, they felt that they had to come out with something to enhance the user experience – I wonder why…

The update package will improve the “basic performance and stability” of the phone and will update some “key upgrades to features like the dialer”. I have to admit that the dialer does look rather good after the update.

You can watch this video in which Aaron Duke, the product manager of the X2, tells us about the update and explains how you can install it on your own X2. You can also find out more at the official Xperiancers website.

I tried installing this on my X1 (with X2 ROM courtesy of XDA) and it trashed the dialer – beware! :)

I had to reflash the ROM in the end, so all things considered I’m gonna leave well alone as my X10 is due in a mere 27 days now…

  3. I’ve also just installed it on one of the X2′s I’ve got laying around, and well… It seemed to help just a slight bit, but it’s really nothing special in terms of performance. Perhaps stability though. I’ll have to wait a bit to see about that :)

I tried to install it and was unsuccessful.
I bought my cell phone from US website, no update as US available from Sony website so I downloaded the UK version; did not work.
    Any idea?
