We just got this from an anonymous tipster who claims that Carphone Warehouse in the UK are making their preparations to face problems with the Remote Play feature on the Sony Ericsson Aino that was just released recently.
They have added a return code specifically for Remote Play failure on the Aino (bottom of the list on the above image).
This is most unusual for CPW, our tipster says. According to our anonymous tipster CPW only lists general flaws, such as software, connectivity, SIM card or functionality faults. Apparently a return code for a single flaw on a single handset has never been added to the system.
Now, this may not necessarily have to mean that the handset is doing bad or that there have been many returns. But it’s a bit weird to think that they’ve already got it set up.

My Aino’s Remote play takes a while to connect and usually dips out midway. I thought maybe it was cuz of the shitty internet. they use a 4mb for my school. So should i get it returned?
Well the service has problems with ceratin routers being used. I remember reading that somewhere. And yes I agree that it takes some time to start up. Some times I think it fails but suddenly it’s alive.
This is mostly when I also boot up the PS3 on remote.
You know internet conectivity can be quite tricky….
Well my Aino is better at Remote Play in most respects than my PSP, although picture quality is a little better on PSP. I don’t expect enough users will want Aino for Remote Play for it to be a problem, if there are even faults with it.
I got this phone specifically because of this feature (all the rest were a bonus) but have had many problems already and I only got it four days ago! I have PS Play attached to my PS3 and wanted to be able to set it to record via the internet but the handset wouldnt contect me via that route (I had set it up previously at home) but will (most of the time) allow me to connect via wifi at home. I’m deliberating whether to return it, complain or try to learn a way around the problem.
The remote play depends on whether you use a wi-fi or 3g.wi-fi is supported and will depend on your router settings.3g is more tricky the ip address changes every time you go on the internet with your phone so the psr network doesn’t recognise it.you need to check the playstation network blogs useful tips there.i cant discuss full details on an open forum…carephone warehouse state there website doesn’t state remote play via 3g is supported.sony ericsson state its a service provider issue and your service provider witll state they dont support this function for domestic customers.I ‘ve got mine to work over 3g & wi-fi takes a little bit of work though.
