This is just in from the Sony Ericsson Developer World Twitter feed. Apparently the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 has the highest Jbenchmark PRO score ever, despite the performance disadvantages of its very high resolution display! That’s quite remarkable, to say the least.
In addition to this, the X2 is also said having the best Java Virtual Machine (JVM) on any Windows Mobile device. Comparing the X1 and the X2 does indeed reveal quite a lot of changes on the Java front of things. The X1 supports four different API’s and JSR’s, whereas the X2 supports an incredible 18 different API’s and JSR’s. This will make it a lot more compatible with Java applications and games, and it’ll support a lot of the applications and games that could not run on the X1. Nice!
By the way, notice the “Sony Ericsson B10″ in the screenshot? Any ideas of what that is?
Seems it’s the internal working name for the X2.

Mizzle any idea why would that be? Qualcomm 7200 is waaaaay slower than OMAP 3430, in Satio for example… I am very surprised to be honest, as video performance of Qualcomm 7200 is poor as well. Hope You’ll know. Thanks!
Lots of software optimizations and official drivers for the hardware, I guess. In comparison, the X1 got a score of 153 and the X2 is at 584.
I’ve always thought the video performance of the 7200 was quite decent.
I think that the video performance of the 7200 is pretty poor compared to OMAP 3430. Though it’s decent as You said!
bravo x2! bravo!
Its quite simple. SE ROCKS!
anybody have a clue of what the SE B10 is?
This is a very good result indeed, but I don’t care that much about java. For example, what is the video performance compared to other devices?
B10 is XPERIA X2`s XML Name:

Great, thanks for that. Reminded me of it when I saw the link
Odd that the Sony Ericsson Developer World Twitter team couldn’t answer that question.
